Garden City-Mr. A.C. Blakey, Sr. 92, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010.

Mr. Blakey was born in Wilkes County to the late Harvey W. & Herman Blakey. He was
a member of the Middleground Baptist Church in Screven County and attended the First
Baptist Church of Garden City. He retired as a Recovery Room Operator from Union
Camp after 39 years of service. He enjoyed farming and raising pole herford cattle in
Screven County. Also preceding Mr. Blakey in death were his brothers, James, Lawrence
and Jesse Blakey and a sister, Martha Zittrouer.

Survivors include his wife, Laurie Davis Blakey of Garden City; children, James W. &
Jan Blakey of Garden City, Sarah Blakey Pirkle and Rev. Earnie of Savannah and Amos
C., Jr. & Fran Blakey of Marietta; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren;
sisters, Mable Reed of Goldsboro, NC, Juanita Blocker of Atlanta and Bessie Strange of
Dublin; sister-in-law, Sylvia Blakey of Sylvania and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of the funeral home with a graveside funeral
to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Screven Memorial Park in Sylvania.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be sent to the USO, Savannah Chapter, 340
Eisenhower Drive, Savannah, GA 31406 in honor of two grandsons serving in the
military.
