Alan Taylor "Lanny" Lynes
Rincon- Alan Taylor "Lanny" Lynes, 74, died Monday, November 27, 2017 after a short illness.
He was born on January 26, 1943 in Savannah, GA and had lived in Rincon for the past 31 years. He was a 1961 graduate of Savannah High School. He worked at Plumrite, his family's business for a number of years until it was sold. He retired from Gulfstream after 24 years of service. He was a passionate horseman and for many years participated with his wife in showing horses on the palomino show circuit. He enjoyed fishing and boating in the coastal waters around Savannah. Alan was a good neighbor in his small community, always having time to visit his friends. He especially loved his cats and his most relaxing moments were when the cats were in his lap. He was a loving son to his mother throughout her life. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Bette and Richard Lynes.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Sharyn Lynes; his brother, Richard Lynes, Jr. (Bobbie); and several nephews.
Visitation: 10-11 am Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in the funeral home.
Memorial Service: 11 am Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in the funeral home chapel.
