Albert Wayne Hogan, Sr.

November 14, 1948 — February 13, 2026

Springfield – Albert Wayne Hogan, Sr., 77, passed away February 13, 2026 into the presence of his Savior.

The California native retired from Cobb County Fire Department after 30 years and the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office after 13 years. He moved to Springfield in 2022 and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church where he served as choir director, as he loved music and singing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always loved telling jokes and being a jokester, until it was time to be serious. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Kingdom Rider Motorcycle Ministry.

He was preceded in death by his birth parents, Wayne Hogan and Clara Goodson; and by his parents whom raised him, Dewey O. and Veldres Hicks; and brother, David Goodson.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Hogan; children, Albert Wayne Hogan, Jr. (Amy), Felicia Kathleen Harkins (Jeff), Katharine McKenna Jarrett (Barry), and Caleb Franklin Hogan (Kayley Brooke); grandchildren, Chance Hogan, Scout Hogan, Bryce Womack (Melissa), Chalony Bilbrey (Alex), Axtyn Walker, Abel Hogan, and Abigail Hogan; great-grandchildren, Raelynn Bilbrey, Ember Bilbrey, and Katie Womack; sister, Jean Hollis; brother, Tim Goodson; his mother-in-law, Virginia Edgar; sisters-in-law, Ginny Edgar, Lisa Edgar, Joan Camp, and Bonnie Mapp (Ken); brother-in-law, Marvin Edgar; several nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Thomas C. Strickland and Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel, 2460 Hwy. 21 S., Rincon, GA 31326.

Visitation will be 12 noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2026 followed by funeral services at 4 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home, 4373 Atlanta Hwy., Hiram, GA 30141.

Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Dallas, GA.
