Obituary

Rincon – Alice Williams Grovenstein, 92, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at her residence.

The Louisiana native was a founding member of Maranatha Assembly of God 49 years ago. She was a homemaker, seamstress, and baker famous for her cinnamon rolls, but her greatest joy was taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Odis and Margaret Dixon Williams; and husband, Harmon P. Grovenstein.

Survivors include her children, Phillip Grovenstein, Jr. (Diane, predeceased) of Claxton; Michael Grovenstein (Sarah, predeceased) of Rincon; Deborah Gavin (Ronald) of Columbus, GA; Donnie Grovenstein (Vickie); Kay Kusic (Larry); and Gary Grovenstein (Lynn) all of Rincon; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Maranatha Assembly of God followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow in Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
