Mrs. Aliene Newman Archer, 82, of Pooler, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Effingham Care and Rehab facility.

Aliene was born in Chatham County and spent most of her life there, including almost 40 years in Pooler.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie James "Bill" Archer, her parents, Hubert and Dorothy Gross Newman, siblings, Hubert Newman, Jr. and Gloria Summerland, as well as a nephew, Douglas Newman.  Aliene was employed for a number of years as the office manager at Jimmy Cobb State Farm Insurance and she attended Trinity Methodist Church.  She will be remembered for being "the one that took care of everyone – always present", for being a jokester, but most of all, for her loving heart.

Survivors include her children, Alicia Williams (Keith), Dana Archer (Debbie), and Ronnie Archer; grandchildren, Brian Williams, Adam Williams, Brooklyn Williams (fiancé-Timmy Nixon), Cyndi Shae Archer, Emily Archer Erin Archer, and Colby Crawford; great-grandchildren, Channing Williams, Emmaline Davis, Brigdon Williams, and Harper Nixon; brothers, Ashton Newman and Richard Newman, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral to honor Aliene will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.

The Archer family would like to thank the staff of the Effingham Care and Rehab facility, including Esther, for the love and care shown to Aliene during her time there.
