Obituary

Alisha Marie Diebold Goldbach, of Pooler, GA, peacefully passed away the morning of May 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving sisters and husband after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Her family is profoundly grieved by the loss of such a bright light in this world.

Alisha was born to Norman and Judy Diebold on December 31, 1983, in Augusta, Georgia. She was one of four sisters: Ahsha Hayes, Meredith Saxon, & Megan Mohn. She is additionally survived by her husband, Tristan Goldbach, and her two boys, James Suarez and Liam Goldbach. Alisha will be remembered for all the lives she touched, helped, & saved during her time on earth.

Alisha obtained a master's degree in engineering from Georgia Southern University. She loved being an engineer. While working at Gulfstream, she was widely known as the person who could reliably bring people together- those with problems and those who could provide solutions. This is how she approached her work and every aspect of her life. She was relentless in her passion to help others.

Alisha dedicated herself over many years to the Junior League of Savannah and their philanthropic mission to help women and children. One of her proudest achievements, her two amazing boys notwithstanding, was chairing one of the most successful thrift sale events the Junior League has ever held. But perhaps she was even more proud to follow that up by helping her friends with what she learned in subsequent thrift sale events.

Even as she battled cancer, Alisha became involved with Ronald McDonald House, which had a family center room in the hospital, a short walk from where she was treated. During her darkest struggles, she could not but bring light to others, somehow finding the energy to help raise thousands of dollars for RMHC and outfit an activity cart at Memorial Health Hospital with supplies for children in need of comfort.

This is how most people knew Alisha. Her family and close friends knew her as the most selfless, angelic person to grace the earth with their light. And as someone who had so much more love to give the world that her passing encourages us all to reflect and strive to be all the better for having known her. Alisha's legacy endures in the souls she touched, friends and family alike.
