Mrs. Alleene Elam Woodcock, 90, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2025 at Candler Hospital.
Aleene was born in Guyton, Georgia and had lived in Pooler for a number of years before moving to Bloomingdale in 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Woodcock; her parents, William David Elam and Annie Hinely Elam; a grandson, Michael Woodcock; sisters, Annie Will Beaverstein and Elizabeth Hales. She retired as a Postmaster from the Pooler Post Office after 25 years of service. After retirement from the post office, she earned her real estate license and was employed with Century 21 for several years. She was a member of Rothwell Baptist Church since 1959 where she attended the Dot Bacon Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her sons, David Emory Woodcock (Heather), James Alan Woodcock (Debra), and Glenn Andrew Woodcock (Lorene); grandsons, Daniel Woodcock, Christopher Woodcock, and Antoni Woodcock, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral to honor Alleene's life will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Elkins Cemetery in Guyton.
