Mr. Allie "Sonny" McClendon, 70, of Meldrim, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Sylvania to the late Allie & Lucille McClendon.  He was also preceded in death by 12 siblings.  He was a member of Meldrim Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing.  Along with his wife, he co-owned and operated Meldrim Auto Repair and was employed with Blythe Construction Company.

Survivors include his wife, Karen McClendon; children and their spouses, Cody & Jackie McClendon, Ryan & Katelynn McClendon, Jenna & Cameron McClendon, Michelle Cox (Kent)  and Angela Wilson; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, John McClendon and Earl McClendon; sisters, Eleeze Moore and Louise McClendon; a number of nieces and nephews and his best friend, Kenny McCullough.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim.
