Obituary

Amanda Page Campbell Shafer, 37, passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2023.

She was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in Roswell, Georgia where she was a three-sport athlete in track, cross country and basketball.  Amanda graduated with a double major from the University of Georgia.  She was always striving to better herself and continued academic pursuits while working full time and taking care of her family.

Amanda is survived by her husband, David H. Shafer, II; three sons, Kane (11), Chance (9), and Bryce Shafer (5); her mother, Cindy Gvist (Andy); father, Bill Campbell (Penny); mother and father-in-law, Cindy and Dave Shafer; sister, Kristin Swanstrom (Dan); brother, Chase Campbell; sister-in-law, Carly Melane Cross (Cole); nieces and nephews, Harrison, Ellie, and Jo Swanstrom, Gunner and Ellie Mae Cross.

She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and teacher and will be missed tremendously.  Her kind soul will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Services and final wishes will be private.  People wishing to honor Amanda can donate to the Effingham County Recreation Department, 808 Hwy 119 S, Springfield, GA 31329 to the attention of Shelane Westbrook.
