Port Wentworth-Miss Amelia Freeman, 77, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Amelia was born in Chatham County to the late Richard Eddie & Marion Snider Freeman. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Elizabeth Freeman. She was a member of the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church where she was a dedicated choir member and as well as a member of the Amy Exley Bible Class. She retired as an accountant having been employed with Neal Blunn as well as Dee Bowers.
Survivors include many cousins, including Barbara White who was like a sister to her and Dr. Leihugh Mosely, Carol Scott, Sharon Hohenstein and Debra Stephens who were like her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. in the social hall at the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church located at 201 Turnberry Street. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. in the church sanctuary followed by the burial at Greenwich Cemetery.
