Angela Weimerskirk
1964-2024

Angela (Angie) Weimerskirk, 60, of Pooler, GA., passed away peacefully on May 22, 2024, surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. She was born January 25,1964, in Bellevue, Iowa, the daughter of Verlin (Jiggs) and Patricia Trenkamp. On June 26, 1987, she married Thomas Weimerskirk at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellevue, Iowa.
Angie graduated from Marquette High School in 1982 in Bellevue, Iowa and Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa in 1986, with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry. She worked for Savannah Laboratories which later became Eurofins since moving to Georgia in 1986. She taught Sunday school at her parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, for 25 years. Over the years she prepared hundreds of children to receive sacraments within the church, including First Communion and First Confessions. She also wrote and directed the children's Christmas plays for the church for several years. Angie received an award from the Knights of Columbus for 25 years of dedicated service to her parish for her role as a CCD teacher.
Angie will be remembered as a caring and loving mother, devoted wife and very dedicated Nana.
She was a Pilar of strength and love within our family and the community. Her absence leaves an
unfillable void. She was a person anyone could call on for support and wisdom. Her caring and loving nature extended far beyond our immediate family, touching the lives of friends and our wider community.
She is survived by her husband Tom Weimerskirk, of Pooler, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Jackie Weimerskirk and children Dean and Charlotte (Charlie) of Newnan, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Sean Compton and daughter Amelia of Savannah, GA; her parents Patricia and Verlin Trenkamp of Omaha, NE; siblings Theresa Trenkamp of Nashville, TN; Andy (Kim) Trenkamp and children, Megan and Justin, of Omaha, NE; Deb (John) Moellers and son, Steven, of Bellevue, IA; in-laws Judy Redington of Freeport, IL, Robert and Mary Kay Weimerksirk of Rockford, IL; Pam and Terry Thomlinson of Dubuque, Iowa; Matt and Deb Weimerkirk of Olathe, KS; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and her loyal dog Zoey.
She is preceded in death by her in-laws, Myrtle and Matthew Weimerksirk; brothers-in-law, Donald and Larry Weimerskirk and Jim Redington; sister-in-law, Ruth Weimerskirk; her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass will be will held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 501 S Coastal Hwy, Port Wentworth, GA, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024 with a celebration of life to follow at 3121 River Drive, Thunderbolt, GA. There will be a burial service on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA.
