Mrs. Angie Louise Andrews, 86, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Pruitt Health Hospice House in Swainsboro, Georgia.
Angie was born in Ridgeland, South Carolina and spent many years in Port Wentworth, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband John David Andrews, Sr., parents Ruth and Arnold Benton, and Joseph Branch, brother Francis Branch, sister Barbara Vankleeck, grandsons Joseph Scott Nease, Kenneth Scott Nease, and Michael Wade Nease, and a great-grandson Kenneth Michael Nease. She was raised from the age of 5 until 17 in the Methodist Children's home near Walterboro, South Carolina. She worked for a number of years at the Sugar Refinery Store and then as a driver for Pony Express. She enjoyed playing softball and was regarded as a good pitcher, she was an excellent cook, she enjoyed reading and writing poetry. She was a caregiver, taking care of her siblings, but most of all, she was an active and present wife and mother, and had a giving and forgiving heart. She is going to be missed.
Survivors include her children James Arnold Andrews (Julie), Debra Louise Collins (Jimmie), John David Andrews, Jr. (Susan), and Lynette Andrews Nease; grandchildren Heather Louise Claxton (Josh), Stephen David Andrews (Laura), April Cherie Metcalf, Allen Michael Andrews (Mary), Brian McKinley Andrews (Amanda), Travis Wade Nease (Amy), Stephanie Elizabeth Andrews, Courtney Marie Horneij (Eric), and Sara Beth Nease; twenty -three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother Samuel J. Branch, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The memorial service to honor Angie's life will follow at 6 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Randy Nease officiating.
