Anne Chloris McGaughey died on April 7, 2026 after a short illness. She was 88.
Anne was born in Spokane, Washington. She graduated from high school in Pasadena, Texas and attended Sacramento Junior College in California and the University of Maryland in Munich, Germany. She was married to Lt. Richard Haskell Fogary USAF from New Jersey who died in Service. Later while in Ramstein, Germany she met Howard Eugene McGaughey and they were married in the Panama Canal Zone.
She retired from Gulfstream Aerospace after 25 years of service.
Anne was preceded in death by her mother, Erleen Graham from Colville, Washington, step-father, Major Mackenzie Lunan USAF, husband, Howard E. McGaughey from Savannah, Georgia, sister, Jolen Floyd and brother-in-law, Rodney Floyd both from North Port Florida.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Burns (Brian Burns), daughter, Pamela Burk (Billy Burk), son, Kenneth McGaughey, brother-in-law, David McGaughey (Patsy McGaughey), granddaughter, Kristi Smith (Andrew Smith), two great-grandchildren, Kallie Jo and Mason Smith, nieces, Shannon Mclain and Katie Hudson, nephews, Alex and Ryan Floyd and cousin, Maeva Chanek.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Pruitt Health Seaside and Pruitt Hospice for the kindness, support and care during Anne’s illness. We would also like to say special thank you to her dear friends Lynn and Suzie.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2026 at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
