Obituary

Anne C. Horn passed away on January 7, 2026.  She was born Anne Marie Evelyn Classens on March 4, 1957, at St. Joseph's Hospital in the Bronx, New York, and was a resident of Bloomingdale, Georgia at her death.

Anne lived her life with a heart full of love and compassion for all whom she met, giving to all without the least thought for her own needs.  In the last decades of her life, Anne was devoted to alerting her community to all potential hazards to life and limb, using her bank of scanners and internet presence to offer information that often helped others to avoid difficulty and, sometimes, injury.  She used her home as a clearinghouse to collect clothing, food, and other essentials which she then distributed to those in need whenever disaster struck.  Anne's generosity knew no bounds, every stranger became a friend, and every stray animal found a loving home with her.  In recent years, Anne cultivated a "YouTube" family with whom she enjoyed a mutual devotion that brought her enormous pleasure.

When Anne appeared on the television program "The Price is Right," host Drew Carey remarked that she wasn't too fuzzy for a Georgia peach, which gave Anne no end of delight.  She was recognized by her community for her countless acts of selflessness, receiving certificates, plaques, and honors of which she was justifiably proud.

When Anne was diagnosed with cancer, she waged a valorous contest that stretched over more than 2 ½ years, with hope and optimism enough to survive any other foe.  The battle had its ups and downs before it reached the inevitable end, but Anne went down with her head high and her spirit undaunted, leaving us to remember the courage she showed at every turn.

Anne was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Melanie Classens, her baby sister Tara, and her brother Frank.  Those left to cherish the memory of having Anne in their lives include:  her son, Kevin Fadden and his wife, Tonia, of Evans County, who gave Anne loving care as she approached her final destination; her brothers, Michael Classens and John Classens, both of Statesboro;  and her sister, Ellen Jones, of the greater Bellville metropolitan area in Evans County.  A score of nieces and nephews will miss Aunt Anne, but will remember her countless acts of love with fondness.  Anne was also blessed with grandchildren who became the apples of her eye and, just before her departure and to her delight, a great-grandchild whom she was able to hold, even if only for a day or two.

Anne Horn was the epitome of goodness and mercy and she will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

The visitation will be on Sunday, January 11, 2025 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral to honor Anne's life will follow at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
