Obituary

Ellabell-Mrs. Annie Ruth Bateman, 85, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at her home.
Mrs. Annie Ruth was born in Emanuel County to the late Frank & Doxie Underwood. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George W. Bateman; daughter, Linda Conner; two sons-in-law, Lyvon Overstreet, and Tommy McGee. She was a member of the Ellabell United Methodist Church, and was a Seamstress. She was a caregiver to many, enjoyed sewing, and was an avid gardener.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Overstreet, and Carol McGee; son-in-law, Lynn Conner; grandchildren, Keaton & Holly Conner, David & Marcey Conner, Lyanne & Ronn Polk, Charlton & Micah Riegner, Tommy McGee, Teresa McGee, and Beth McGee; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Lower Black Creek Cemetery. Brother Jim Sullivan will officiate. The pallbearers will be Dean Bateman, Tommy McGee, Robby Becker, Curtis Bateman, Ronnie Polk, Ernest Anderson, and Joe Underwood.
