Annie Marie Malphus Hoover

Guyton – Annie Marie Malphus Hoover, 66, passed away October 8, 2026 at her residence.

The Effingham County native was a kind and generous woman, she loved her Lord and lived out her Christian faith. She was a lover of all animals and wanted to see that they were taken care of.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Riner, parents, John Edward Malphus and Grace Hodges; her husband, James Hoover; her brothers, Donnie Malphus and Johnny Malphus.

Survivors include her son, Russell Jordan Riner (Julia); sisters, Dorie Rogers (Carl Eddie Rogers, Jr.) and Amy James; nephews, Carl Eddie Rogers, Jr. (Brianna), Jessie James, and Caleb James; great-nieces and nephews, Sadie, Journy, and Layla.

The family will hold a memorial at a later date.
