Obituary

Pooler-Mrs. Annie Lou Purvis, 98, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, September 29, 2011.
Mrs. Purvis was born in Toombs County to the late James & Annie Parker Page. She lived in Chatham County since 1933. She was employed with Lang's Department Store for 27 years and retired from Punch and Judy in 1976. She was the oldest living member of the Bloomingdale First Baptist Church where she had been a member for fifty-five years. She was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class, had taught Sunday school, had played piano in the Primary Department, was a member of the W.M.U. and the Joy Club. She was a member of the Pooler Senior Citizens and was the widow of Lewis Purvis.
Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Shirley & Paul Mosely of Tybee Island, Ann & Tommy White, Nadine Beatty and Jeanne Futch, all of Pooler; beloved niece, Dona Edenfield of Garden City; twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Bloomingdale First Baptist Church located at the corner of Cherry and Moore Street. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
