Annie Jinell Wood

December 5, 1938 – June 30, 2023

Guyton – Annie Jinell Wood (nee Brown), left this world in the early morning hours of June 30, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Charles Wood, her daughter, Glenda Carol Wood Hawk, her mother, Mattie Lucille Boddiford Brown, her father, Robert Henry Brown, brothers, William Brown, Thomas Brown, and James Brown.

Mrs. Wood was a devoted wife and mother and dedicated her life to her extended family.  She was an avid gardener and loved harvesting and cooking from her gardens.  She was also very passionate about her animals, as she always took in and had several dogs at any given time.  She loved fishing and crabbing.

She is survived by her children, Susan Jennings (Wes), Joseph Wood (Julie), Steven Wood (Barbara), Tony Wood (Rose), and Tammey Usry (Danny).  She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Katie, Christina, Jackie, Cindy, Jessica, Kinni, Charles, Thomas, Glenn, Cora, Heather, Rebecca, Ira, Glenda, Sarah, and Amy; 32 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Janie Smith, Betty Weathers, Mary Evelyn Dasher, Peggy Wise, and Harriett Sue Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Guyton Cemetery.
