Rincon – Audrey Pevey Zipperer, 93, passed away February 1, 2024 at Effingham Hospital.

She was born in Guyton, Georgia on November 8 ,1930 to Nute and Eudell Pevey.  She graduated from Rincon High School in June of 1948.  She married the love of her life, Charles Ernest Zipperer, just a few days after graduation on June 18, 1948.  She and Charles loved to cook and entertain friends and family at their party barn.  When they retired they loved to go camping with their friends.  After Charles' death in February of 2010 Audrey went to live at Lakeview Manor.  There she made many new friends.  She enjoyed playing Bingo and Dominoes and particularly enjoyed the many groups who came to support and entertain the residents.  She especially loved Keith Martin and the Phillips family.  Because of failing health in August of 2023 she became a resident of Effingham Care Center.

She was a member of Bible Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, and her brother, Ludene Pevey.

She is survived by her son, Lamar Zipperer (Lorraine) and her daughter, Mary Jane Brinson (Mac).  Her grandchildren: Judy Daniell (Trey), Truitt Zipperer (Amber), Jinci Allen (Troy), and Clay Brinson (Tiffany).  Her great-grandchildren:  Leslie and Lance Daniell, Holland and Webb Zipperer, Jax, Jennings, and Iyla Jo Allen, Holder and Beau Brinson.  Her brother, Eugene Pevey and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Pevey, Virginia Pevey, and Dorothy Zipperer.  Also many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Her family would like to thank the staff of Lakeview Manor for their many years of love and care.

There will be a visitation on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Strickland's Funeral Home in Rincon beginning at 2:00 p.m.   Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel.  Followed by her burial at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
