Austin "A.J." King, 19, died Saturday, August 5, 2017.
The Effingham County resident was a 2017 graduate of Effingham County High School, where he had been a member of the wrestling team and the ROTC. A.J. worked at Gulfstream and was a member of The Chapel. He loved the water, including surfing and fishing.
Survivors include his mother, Renee S. Raffield; his father, Joseph John King, III; step-father, Angelo V. Raffield, Jr.;step-mother, Christina M. King; brothers, Jacob King, Carson King, Justin Raffield, Adam Raffield; sisters, Calleigh King and Mary Raffield; grandparents, David Skelley, Sheryl Skelley, Joseph J. King, Jr., Heska King; great-grandparents, John Porgal, Etta Skelley, Charles Karlesky, and Vanessa Karlesky; uncles, Michael Skelley, Jinyong King, John Michael Porgal, Willard R. Skelley, III; aunt, Blanche Mulahany; cousin, Courtlynn Karlesky; and numerous other relatives.
Visitation: 6-8 pm Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 4 pm Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment: Effingham Memorial Gardens
