Mrs. Barbara Ann Barbin, 76, of Pooler, GA and formerly of Terre Haute, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at The Oaks at Pooler.

Barbara was born in Terre Haute and was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Roland Nipple and Hazel Lemrick Nipple, as well as her sister, Marilyn K. Nipple.  Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love in her husband, children, grandchildren, friends and family.  She was a career nurse, both as a caretaker as well as an educator.  She retired from Florida State College at Jacksonville as a professor.  She was a board member of March of Dimes during her entire professional career and was an active member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Terre Haute.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Louis P. Barbin; daughters, Amy R. Banta and Kim Dennis (Keith); grandchildren, Alex Banta, Chloe Dennis, Savannah Banta, and Chelsea Dennis; sisters-in-law, Joyce McCullough (Mike), Gail Meeker (Steve), and Joan Meeker (Harry), as well as several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  The service to honor Barbara's life will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 201 Television Circle, Savannah, GA  31406.
