Guyton – Barbara Womble Cobb, 78, passed away September 25, 2017 at Memorial Health.
The Chatham County native worked as a bookkeeper at Auto Electric and Savannah Motor and Brake, she was a baker at Savannah Rumrunners and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Thomas Womble and Rebecca Udinski Womble; husbands, Eugene Gonsalves and Jerry Cobb.
Survivors include her children, Judy A. Balcom (Anthony Kurt) of Tybee Island, Joan Bragg of Port Wentworth, Richard Gonsalves of Rincon, John Gonsalves (Sheri) of Springfield, Michele Corley (Stephen) of Napa, CA, Joseph Gonsalves (Heather Ann) of Faulkville, and Marcy Parker (Allen) of Clyo; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; husband, Javid Smith of Guyton; sister, Sandra Larue of West Palm Beach, FL; brother, Bernard Womble of Savannah; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
