Barbara Bess Garcia

Mrs. Barbara Bess Garcia, 80, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at the Abercorn Rehabilitation Center in Savannah, Georgia.

Barbara will be missed by her sons, Michael, David, and Jonathan; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was born in the Bronx, New York and was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Garcia, father, Harry Meltzer and her mother, Minerva Hoffman Meltzer. She had been employed with the New York City School System. She enjoyed reading, going to the beach, playing board games, traveling to Florida and other exotic places, but most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Barbara’s wishes were to be cremated with no formal service.
