Mrs. Barbara Blanton Harp, 78, of Canyon, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

Barbara was born in Glennville, Georgia and moved to Savannah, Georgia during her teenage years, and remained here until 2022.  She spent the last 3 years living in Arlington, Texas and Canyon with her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harp, Sr.; her daughter, Heather Harp; step-daughter, Patricia Harp Webb; father, Monnie Blanton; mother, Katie Stanfield Blanton; sisters, Alene Blanton Strickland and Elaine Blanton Burke, as well as her brother, Eugene Blanton.  She loved planting new flowers in the yard, reading mystery novels, watching booger movies (horrors), people watching and going to casinos.  She was a server at Carey Hilliard's for almost 50 years.  She was a member of Whitemarsh Baptist Church and attended Temple Baptist Church in Arlington when living in Texas.

She will be missed by her children, Loretta Blanton Bacon, Tony Thomas, Kimberly Thomas Blondell, William Harp, and Holly Harp Nails; three sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 12 noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral to honor Barbara's life will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Steve McCoy officiating.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
