Meldrim-Ms. Barbara T. "Patsy" Jenkins, 80, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Abercorn Rehabilitation Center.
Ms. Patsy, also known as "Granny B", was born in Savannah to the late Benjamin & Vivian Slater Tillman. She was a bookkeeper most of her life, and a Notary Public for over 50 years. She drove a school bus for the Effingham County Board of Education, and was a member of the Meldrim United Methodist Church. She had owned a bakery, and was known for baking wedding cakes. She loved her cats, her flowers, doing needlework, and reading.
Survivors include her son, Dan & Shirley Brinson; step-son, Jerry & Debbie Jenkins; she fostered Joe & Debbie Richardson; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Violet Buckner; a number of nieces and nephews, including, Rene' & John, and Cindy & David, and special friends, Lisa & Mike Cannon, their 3 children, and 7 grandchildren.
The visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Meldrim United Methodist Church located at 219 3rd Street. The funeral will follow in the sanctuary at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
