Mrs. Barbara Henslee Poppell, 96 years old, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, peacefully with her family by her side.  She was born in Clayton, Georgia on May 13, 1929 to Frank and Annie Henslee.  She moved to Savannah, Georgia in 1947 where she raised her family and retired after 27 years at GA Pacific.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Poppell, her daughter, LeeAnn Bowen (Aldon), her son, Thomas (Benny) Faulk III, and grandchildren, Derrick Plankenhorn and Trevor Anderson.  She is survived by children, Kathy Allen (Tommy), BillieJean Plankenhorn (Don), Barbara Anderson (Tim), and Mark Denton; grandchildren, Lisa McClain (Rusty), Kathy Creech (Tony), Michelle Jenkins (Davey), Chriss Allen (Rachel), Kacy Tedder (Josh), David Faulk (Mary), Danese Terry (Joshua), Brian Plankenhorn (Lindsey), Dustin Plankenhorn (Toni), Robert Renfro, Kristy Renfro, and Charlotte Tilly (William); great-grandchildren, Mindy Rahn (Jonathan), Ashleigh Foskey (Wayne), Alec Creech, Sydnie Fordham (Steven), Haleigh Jenkins, Payton Tatum (Will), Brett Allen, Matthew Allen, Josiah Tedder, Asher Tedder, Garett Faulk, Josie Faulk, Ciera Terry, Jesse Terry, Layla Terry, Derrick Plankenhorn, Paulson Plankenhorn, Nicholas Renfro, Adian Laduzenski, and Olivia Tilley; great-great-grandchildren, Jadon, Madi, Wilkes, Wayde, Kennedy, Kinsley, and Lincoln.  She is also survived by her best friend of many years, Joyce Anderson, as well as many nieces and nephews.  The visitation will be on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral to honor Barbara's life will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.  The burial will be private at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to SunCare Hospice, 804 Towne Park Drive, Suite 200, Rincon, GA  31326 or H.O.P.E.
