Midway - Barnell "Rooster" Cox, 67, passed away on July 6, 2009 at Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Cox was born in Toombs County on December 3, 1941 but lived the majority of his life in the Savannah area and was employed for many years by the Sweeping Beaver. Mr. Cox resided in Midway for the last three and a half years at Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center. Barnell was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnette Cox; his parents, Willie Mack & Allie V. Cox; a brother, Bennie Ray Cox, Sr. and a nephew, Bennie Ray Cox, Jr.
Barnell was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by his surviving family; sisters and brother-in-laws, Hattie & Ken Tillison of Midway and Willie Mae & Harry Sapp of Cobbtown; nephews, Raubon Bryant, Ronnie Peszynski, David Sapp, and Kenny Tillison; nieces, Diane Sapp, Kathryn Davis, and Stephanie Hatcher and several great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation: 10-12 noon on Thursday at the funeral home.
Graveside Funeral: 2 p.m. on Thursday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens of Savannah.
