Barry Newton Bethune, 69, of Guyton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023 at his home.

Barry was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Kenneth Bethune and Freddie Louise Haskins Bethune.  He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Harlow Spencer.  He retired from International Paper and was a member of the Boilermakers Union.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the GA Bulldogs.  His true treasure was spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Brad and Kristy Bethune,  Amy and Dusty Spencer, and Cory Bethune; grandchildren, Logan and Devin Bethune, Hank and Henderson Spencer; sister, Patricia Grier; brother, Larry Bethune.

The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the funeral home.  The funeral to honor Barry's life will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
