IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barry
Clyde
December 6, 1972 – April 18, 2022
Springfield, GA- Barry Lee Clyde, 49, passed away Monday April 18th 2022 at Memorial Health in Savannah.
Barry was born in Sturgis, South Dakota to Bobby and Bernice Clyde. He grew up in Osage, Wyoming among friends that he still remained in contact with. Even after moving out of the community with his own family, he always identified himself as "an Osage boy." He attended Newcastle High School and graduated in 1992. He went on to study at Illinois University Carbondale.
Barry met the love of his life, Becky, January 1, 1994. His story of the first time he saw her was one he often told. He saw her in her band uniform walk by as he sat in the stands at a home basketball game. He told his friend "That is the girl I am going to marry." With the help of Becky's brother, Geoff, Barry fulfilled his wish. The inseparable pair dated four and a half years before exchanging vows in Montego Bay, Jamaica on July 18th, 1998.
The couple wanted a family, but for reasons beyond their control it did not seem likely to happen. They resigned to the fact that may not be a possibility and began to make plans to enjoy life together as a couple to travel. However, God and Barry's guardian angels had other plans. Barry and Becky welcomed their first miracle, Tristin Sierra Clyde, in October 2002. Barry and Becky wanted more children. Their blessing, Taylor Lynnae Clyde, joined the family in August 2004. Given life's trials, it seemed like the family was completed. The family was surprised and overjoyed when God and the family guardian angels sent their joy, Taryn Whitney Clyde, in May 2008. Barry's life was centered around his family. His girls were his absolute pride and joy.
He wanted to pass on to the girls that they are capable of anything. He taught them to pull trailers, drive ATVs, drive a stick-shift, fish, and aspired to hunt with them when they were of age.
Barry loved the outdoors, He could frequently be found outside tending to his trees and flowers, a hobby he took up later in life. He loved hunting with his friends. He took pride in his deer and decorated the house with his trophies. He would process his own meat each season, looking for recipes he could cook for the family. He enjoyed the peaceful, quiet fishing with his father and daughters. He passed on his love of camping to his family. The campsites from his youth were favorites of his own family. The family enjoyed hiking on trails throughout the Black Hills National Forest, Sunday Gulch being a family favorite for the interactive waterfall.
Among other things, he prided himself in his knowledge of anything automotive. He was always on the lookout for the next new fast and fun toy. One thing he never failed to mention was his 1968 Camaro that he took and completely restored. Barry and Becky would spend weekends traveling with friends to car shows to appreciate muscle cars of days gone by. Barry loved to feel the wind on his face. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved his 75th anniversary Deuce Harley Davidson. Even in his later years, fast moving vehicles were something he always talked about. Not long before his passing, he purchased a new Dodge Challenger Scat Pack saying it was always something he wanted before he passed away.
Barry was a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment, his vast collection of firearms was something he constantly talked about with family and friends. He was patriotic and respected veterans and their sacrifices.
After leaving Wyoming and moving to Georgia with his family in 2018, he discovered many new hobbies and interests. Barry, still loving everything outdoors, took up gardening and loved taking frequent trips to the beach. He enjoyed walking with the family around Savannah.
