Rincon – Beatrice Irene Harris Whiddon, 89, passed away February 23, 2023 at her residence.

The Mississippi native retired from AT&T, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon and the Fidelis Sunday School Class.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and volunteering at the Effingham Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oneill and Beatrice Burnett Harris; and husband, William Leroy Whiddon.

Survivors include her children, Tammie Purcell (Keith) of Richmond Hill, Stacey Whiddon (Linda) of Richmond Hill, and Jennifer Lyn Whiddon of Rincon; grandchildren, Kenneth Purcell (Maureen) of Mooresville, NC, Michael Purcell (Jessi) of Mustang, OK, Kaitlyn Baxter (Nicholas) of Savannah, Julie Carver (Steven) of Kennesaw, and Justin Whiddon of Savannah; great-grandchildren, Laura, Ieva, Liene, Kagen, Garron, Ronan, Daxton, Nathaniel, Oliver, and Samantha; sister, Sue Hollis of Locust Fort, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 3 p.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
