Pooler-Mr. Ben Grady Fields, Jr., 65, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015.
Ben was born in Claxton to the late Ben Grady Fields, Sr. & Edna Mae Barnard Fields. He was a member of Rothwell Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacons, Sunday School teacher, Brotherhood leader, and R.A.'s leader. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, loved to watch sports, hunt, fish, and was an avid reader. He retired from International Paper after 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Linda McNair Fields; sons, Nicholas Ryan Fields (Jill), Nolan Bennett Fields, and Christopher Brett Fields (Jessica); grandchildren, Aliya Ann Fields, and Lennon Grady Fields; mother-in-law, Vera M. Powell; sister-in-law, Crystal (Pat) McNair Atkins, and one niece and one nephew and many cousins.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 10 a.m. on Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requested remembrances be given to Rothwell Memorial Fund, 216 E. Rothwell Street, Pooler, GA 31322.
