BENNARD E. BASS
Rincon, GA - Bennard E. Bass, 78, passed on from this world to a better life on June 13, 2015. He was a wonderful, kind, thoughtful, loving man with a huge heart that would do anything for the people he loved and others that needed help. He retired from Nabisco in 1992, refinished/repurposed furniture for many years, enjoyed going to auctions of all types and holding yard sales several times a year. His hobby and therapy was preparing, planting and enjoying the many vegetables from his "bucket" garden.
Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents James Will and Doris Monk Bass; in-laws Dorsey and Fannie Bennett; brothers James (Bunch), Norman, Darrell and Paul Bass; sister Nancy Bass Bennett and many aunts and uncles.
Mr. Bass is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Rose Quattlebaum Bass; his daughters Cindy Bass Turner, Sherri Bass Morel (Benjie), Dencie Bass Edgy and Mandee Bass Holloway (Danny); his precious grandchildren Betsy Turner, Brett Edgy and Madisyn Holloway; a brother Ronald Bass (Patsy); and so many nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
The family dynamics in the Birdville neighborhood where Mr. Bass lived with his wife and where they raised their family was very special to him. He loved the people in the neighborhood and considered them family. He is now reunited with many members of this family that made the journey before him.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Mr. Bass on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Visitation with the family will begin at 3 p.m. with the memorial service starting at 4 p.m. The service will be held at Strickland's Funeral Home, 2460 Hwy. 21 S., Rincon, GA 31326.
Burial will follow at a later date at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Naylor, GA.
