Savannah-Mr. Bennett H. Elkins, Jr., 78, died on Monday, August 25, 2008 at his home with his family at his side.
The Pooler, GA native retired from the Air National Guard after 39 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Spalding Elkins; children, Cheryl Elkins, Susan Elkins and Michael Elkins, all of Savannah; granddaughter, Erica Elkins of Lexington, SC; grandson, Christopher Elkins of of Savannah; sister, Ann Newham of Pooler and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Graveside Funeral: 11 a.m. on Thursday at Newton Cemetery in Pooler.
Remembrances may be given to VistaCare Hospice, 1000 Town Center Boulevard, Suite 604, Pooler, GA 31322 or to the Alzheimers Association, 201 Television Circle, Savannah, GA 31406.
