POOLER – Mrs. Bertha Edwards Davis, 81, died on Monday, August 10, 2009 following a short illness.
Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her husband of 59 ½ years, Marlin Clyatt Davis.
She retired in 1985 from Union Camp Corp. after having worked in the Payroll Accounting Dept. for many years. She was a long time member of Central Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for nearly 60 years.
Survivors include her sons; Elder Richard M. Davis (Vicky) of Savannah, Raymond G. Davis (Terri) of Guyton; daughters, Martha Daley (Jarrell) of Bloomingdale and Sandy Davis of Pooler; grandchildren, Mark Daley (Pam), Jaime Daley, Ray Davis (Shannon), Suzanne Bertz (Brett) and Wayne Smith (Abby); 10 great-grandchildren and numerous other loving relatives.
Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may made to Central Baptist Church Debt Fund, 4010 Old Louisville Rd., Garden City, GA 31408.
