Bette Weston “Oma” Drecktrah
Bette “Oma” passed away peacefully Monday Feb. 2, 2026, at St Joseph’s Hospital. Bette was born April 23, 1945, to the late Florence Sowell Weston and Herbert Elsworth Weston. Bette was a homemaker and an avid quilter spending many years working at Colonial Quilts in Savannah as a quilter and sewing machine technician. One of her many passions was making quilts for veterans with the Garden City Quilters of Augusta, GA (a chapter of Quilts of Valor)
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Freddy, her daughter Anita Williford and brother Victor Weston.
She is survived by her loving daughter Martha (Buddy) Horton. Granddaughters that “made her heart sing” Aubrey (Marcus) Grant, Hannah Horton, Emily (Jared) Holland, and Maegan Horton. Great granddaughters Rylee, Eloise and Adeline. Sister Martha Weston and several nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her daughter Dora (Bill) Locklear grandchildren Madeline, Joseph and Kathryn.
