Betty H. Bearden

Mrs. Betty H. Bearden, 95, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at PruittHealth – Seaside in Port Wentworth, GA.

Betty will be missed by her loving family, including her two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Bearden (Sharon) of Pooler, GA and Steven Bearden (Betsy) of Marietta, GA; granddaughter, Michelle Bearden of Athens, GA; grandson, Brian Bearden (Rachel) of Mooresville, NC; great-granddaughter, Hayden Bearden; and great-grandson, Jaxon Bearden.

Betty was born in Atlanta, GA and lived in the Atlanta area before moving to Pooler in 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Bearden, Jr.; her parents, Herbert Hammond, Sr., and Dorothy Greer Hammond; and brothers, Herbert Hammond, Jr., and John “Jack” Hammond.

Betty was a Christian; continuously expressed her love for her God, family, friends, pets, and country; and had a great smile and sense of humor. She enjoyed drawing, coloring, sewing, cross-stitching, crocheting, knitting, reading, and listening to the radio. Betty loved cooking and baking for her family and always referred to it as “a labor of love”.

The graveside funeral and burial honoring Betty’s life will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge, GA on February 13 at 11:00 a.m.
