Obituary

Port Wentworth-Mrs. Betty Jane Cribbs Coursey passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2015.
Betty was born in Stilson, GA to the late George W. & Amie Cribbs. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Pearl Peeples, Carl B. Cribbs, Mittie Mae McAlister, Mary Simms, Iver Bell Davis, Elouise Wheatley, George W. "Wilford" Cribbs, Albert B. Cribbs, and Edward W. Cribbs. She was a member of the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church, where she had formerly taught Sunday School, was a member of the Amy Exley Sunday School Class, and the UMW. She retired from the U.S. Navy-Civil Service.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, James L. Coursey, Sr.; son, James L. "Jimmy" Coursey, Jr.; grandchildren, Anna and fiancé Tyler, Stephen, and Daniel; sister, Wilma Cribbs Lowe; brother, Calvin Cribbs; numerous nieces and nephews, and a faithful, wonderful friend/sister, Betty Jean Wynn.
The visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. Monday followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. at the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that remembrances be given to the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church, 201 Turnberry Street, Port Wentworth, GA 31407 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
