Betty Eleanor Johnson, 86, passed away June 25, 2021.

The Chatham County resident was born August 1, 1934, in Norfolk, Virginia.  Her family moved to Bloomingdale where her parents started Bloomingdale Nurseries.  She grew up there which began her love for plants and flowers.  She attended the Peabody School of Music in Baltimore, Maryland and became an accomplished pianist.  She did volunteer work for the Georgia Public Broadcast Station, WSVH, sharing her love for classical music.  She loved her cats and enjoyed sharing their antics with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Mae Johnson and Karl Johnson; her brothers, Norris Johnson, Karl Johnson, II; and her nephew, Noel Johnson.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Karl Johnson, III (Cathy), Erik Johnson, Cindy Kessler (Wendall), Libby Johnson, Vickie Hogan (Brian); several great nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by her family.
