Guyton - Mrs. Betty Jean "Granny" Parker Frost, 72, passed into eternal rest on Monday, July 20, 2009 after a long illness.
Mrs. Frost was a homemaker for most of her life but did briefly work in underground, electrical construction alongside her late husband of 49 years, the late Joe Julian Frost. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Carson and Ruth Howell Parker; brother, William "Billy" Parker. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Savannah.
Survivors include her five children, Joe M. Frost, Sr. (Bobbie) of Ellabell, Wendell Frost (Louise) of Guyton, Robin Edwards (David) of Bloomingdale, Rhonda Lanier (Craig) of Pembroke, Christy Frost (Bernard) of Guyton; three sisters, Lawana Howard of Brunswick, Ann Pickard of Bloomingdale, Faye Wilson of Meldrim; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend great appreciation to the staff of St. Joseph's/Candler ICU and Savannah Specialty Care (Southend) for their loving care and support.
The visitation for Mrs. Frost will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Mrs. Frost's life will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 23 in the chapel of the funeral home. Pastor Brad Proudfoot will officiate and the active pallbearers will be Michael Frost, Shane Lanier, B.J. Frost, Shane Mayfield, Aaron Davis and Greg Helmuth. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
