Betty "Carolyn" Kessler Arnsdorff

Beloved daughter of Alton and Blanche Kessler of Rincon GA, sister of Alton "Benny" Kessler, who preceded her in death, died Thursday April 6, 2023 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.  She is survived by her husband of sixty seven years, Daniel Mack (D.M.) Arnsdorff, son Michael Arnsdorff (Angie), daughter Dawn Baker (David) son Dan Arnsdorff (Yvonne); sister Joyce Bragg (Mike), sister-in-law Mary Sue Kessler; six grandchildren Darla Jasperson (Nathan), Mac Arnsdorff (Audrey), Cal Baker (Kendall), Dusty Baker, Amber Arnsdorff, Alec Arnsdorff (Kaylie); four great grandchildren Darius Arnsdorff, Carter Arnsdorff, Chandler Arnsdorff, Copely Baker.

The Effingham County native was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church where she was confirmed, baptized and married.  She sang in the choir throughout her life, and she worked tirelessly at church serving on a multitude of committees.  She served as Chairman of the Evangelism Committee and helped with numerous special events.  She served on church council, and was always willing to give her time and energy to serve her church and the community.

Carolyn served for many years on the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA) in a variety of positions.  She was a Synodical Board Representative, a Cluster Liaison, and held several unit offices.  She traveled extensively serving on WELCA.

Carolyn was a member and former secretary of the Georgia Salzburger Society. She retired from Union Camp, Woodlands Research Division.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 11,2023.  Visitation at 1:30 - 2:45 and memorial services at 3:00 pm at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Rincon, GA.  Burial to follow at Bethel Lutheran Church, Springfield, GA.  Thomas C. Strickland Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Remembrances may be given to the Jerusalem Lutheran Church music fund, 2966 Ebenezer Rd., Rincon, GA 31326.
