Betty Joyce Kessler Bryant

Guyton – Betty Joyce Kessler Bryant, 84, passed away October 14, 2018 at Westview Nursing Home.

The Effingham County native graduated from Marlow High School in 1950 and graduated from South College with an associate degree. She was a member of Port Wentworth United Methodist Church and retired from Johns Manville having worked in the payroll department after 25 years.  She enjoyed shopping, the beach, and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George N. Kessler and Myrtle Edwards Kessler; siblings, John Franklin Kessler and Margie Kessler Rogers.

Survivors include her husband, Everett D. Bryant; children, Dennis Brian Cook (Karen) of Hamilton, GA and Donna Cook Gilpin (Greg) of Guyton; step-children, Lisa B. Mosley (Kirk) of Guyton, Anne B. Segars (John) of McDonough, and Tammy B. Beard (Alton) of Guyton; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Shealey (Bruce) of Little Rock, AR; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 12 noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
