Betty Woods
Nease
April 19, 1930 – January 1, 2021
Betty Woods Nease
Marlow – After spending 90 years on this earth, Mrs. Betty rang in the New Year then departed for Heaven. She had the good fortune to grow up in the country where she learned the art of country cooking, baking, gardening, animal care and her love of the piano.
She was a graduate of Marlow High School, a longtime employee of Candler General Hospital, and the pianist at Marlow United Methodist Church for over 70 years.
She loved her church, children, grandchildren, her dogs (Maxx and Punkin) her cats (too many to name) her Azalea's and reruns of Lawrence Welk.
Her family, her church family and the Marlow community will miss her wit and her good old fashion country cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Ineve Woods; her late husband, Julius I. Nease, Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Chloe Ingerbritsen of Plymouth Wisconsin, son, Jimmy (Kaye) of Marlow, daughter, Robin Norvelle of Marlow, son Terrell of Rincon; grandchildren, James and Chris Nease, Christina and Michael Norvelle; great-grandchildren, Savannah Kate, Jackson, Abel, Addi and Abbott; step-grandchildren, Michael and Chuck Nettles, Megan Gnann; step-great-grandchildren, Erin, Brice, and Ivory.
One can just picture Mrs. Betty schooling St. Peter on good gospel music and the beauty of a perfect pitch piano, not to mention the proper layout of the Azalea's in Heaven.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2021 at Marlow Cemetery.
