Springfield – Betty Renee Sanderlin Adkins, 68, passed away January 2, 2021 at Memorial Health.

The Chatham County native grew up an Air Force brat having traveled a lot.  She was an avid gardener and reader, loved watching movies, listening to music, and enjoyed singing.  She was a homemaker, a mom to many, and her family meant everything to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William T. Sanderin and Betty Carolyn Morel Sanderlin; her son, Theodore Barton; and her husband, Wendell Adkins.

Survivors include her children, Thomas Barton (Toby), Timothy Barton (Abby), Tammy Croft (James), Tiffany Vozar, Tracy Adkins (David Woods); 17 grandchildren, Victoria Barton, Cohen Barton, Bella Barton, Taylor McBride, Loren Moss, Marissa Fitzgerald, Timothy A. Barton, Joseph A. Barton, Everleigh F. Barton, Timothy J. Barton, Jr., Antonio Barton, Adora Croft, Ashton Croft, Tyler Chavis, Theodore Vozar, Tyson Vozar, Waylon Woods; 1 great-granddaughter, Della McBride; brothers, William T. Sanderlin, Jr. (Cheryl) and Robert B. Sanderlin (Jennifer); and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in Mizpah United Methodist Church Cemetery.
