Betty T. Williamson

Mrs. Betty T. Williamson, 92, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Spanish Oaks Hospice.

Betty will be missed by her children, Gary H. and Dr. Carolyn R. Shuman and Cheryl and George Asinc; grandchildren, Jason Chaplin and Amy McIntosh; great-grandchildren, Asher and Mickey, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Betty was born in Ben Hill County and was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert H. Shuman, her second husband, Edward Williamson, parents, James Ira and Ethel Giddens Towson, as well as two sisters and six brothers. Betty lived in Bloomingdale for over 41 years and was a faithful member of Faulkville Baptist Church. She was primarily a homemaker but also worked in retail. She enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers, and spending time with her great-grandson, and was known for her witty humor. She will be missed.

The graveside funeral and burial will be on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 12 noon at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery located at 1336 Dean Forest Road in Garden City, Georgia.
