Guyton-Ms. Betty Joyce (Thompson) Hodges, 60, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at her home.
Ms. Betty was born in Collins to the late James Coy Thompson and Josephine Thompson. She was of the Baptist faith and was formerly employed with Enmark. She loved her family and her pets.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Esther Karen Kessler & Tim; her son, William James Sanders, Jr.; grandchildren, T.J. Kessler, Josh Kessler, Jordan Sanders and Lacey Sanders; brothers and sisters-in-law, James & Jenny Thompson, John David & Becky Thompson and Richard & Sherry Thompson; sisters, Linda Thompson and Wanda Roberts and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral to celebrate Ms. Joyce's life was at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Brad Proudfoot officiating. Pallbearers were Joshua Kessler, Jessie Hodges, Jonathan Seckinger, John Stewart, Thomas Sanders and Eddie Todd. Burial followed at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
