Mrs. Betty "Jean" Todd, 78, of Faulkville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Hospice Savannah.

Jean will be missed by her daughter, Mechelle & Russ Howell; son, Michael & Gianna Todd;  her grandchildren whom she adored, Eli, Ian, and Nola; brother, Ricky Calhoun; sister, Peggy Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, Amanda & Edwin Moody, Roger & Hazel Todd, Ronald Todd, and Janice Pulchinski; several nieces and nephews.

Jean was born in Savannah, Georgia and was preceded in death by her husband, Larry W. Todd; parents, James & Sadie Ray Calhoun; sister, Madelyn Luke.  She was a member of Bloomingdale Community Church.  She spent 31 years as a school bus driver for the Effingham County Board of Education.  She took great pride and did not consider it a job because of her love for all of the children that rode her bus.  In her spare time she enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, and sewing.

The Todd family would like to thank Jean's caregivers, Lisa Hurt and Dionne Piper, special friend, Sharon Murray, the nurses on the 3rd floor at St. Joseph's Hospital, as well as Hospice Savannah.

The visitation will be on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral to honor Jean's life will be on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.  The graveside funeral and burial will follow at 3 p.m. at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 8819 U.S. Highway 301 in Glennville, Georgia.
