Bige Melvin Thompson

Rincon – Bige Melvin Thompson, 89, passed away November 29, 2018 at his residence.

The Chatham County native was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a Master Electrician having been self employed and retiring from S.C.A.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bige Clayton Thompson and Nellie Fisher Thompson; daughter, Sharon Lavaughn Kinsey; and son Steven Thompson.

Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Laudermilk (Ed), Nina Huntley, Marion Nelson (Ronald); 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Harold Thompson; sisters, Agnes Brigdon, Ruby Inez Webb, Nora Kate Grubb; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018 in the chapel followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
