Bill Buchanan

Springfield-Bill Buchanan, 62, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at his home.
The West Virginia native was a computer specialist with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. He was a member of the Bull Run Street Rod Club and loved to build cars. The US Army Vietnam War veteran fought a courageous battle with ALS. Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Dottie Vargas.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Buchanan; children, Susan Buchanan, William Buchanan, Jr., and Lindsay Buchanan; parents, Gordon and Anna Mae Buchanan; a granddaughter, Raelynn Buchanan; a sister, Joann Mechalek; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to, ALS Association, 1275 K Street NW, Suite 1050, Washington DC 20005.
