Pooler-Mr. Bill D. Poole, 75, went to join his parents, W.F. (Dud) and Thelma Poole in Heaven, on Wednesday, November 26, 2014.
He was born in Treutlin County, GA and moved to Savannah as a child. He lived for 37 years in Garden City, and the last 16 years in Pooler. Bill worked for 10 years at Union Bag and he retired from Gulfstream after 25 years of service. Recently he worked part-time at Great Wide Trucking. He served in the Army, was a member of the American Legion Post 209, and the Gulfstream Retiree's Club. He was also a member of the West Chatham YMCA and Woodlawn Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Senior Men's Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beverly Poole; children, Derward (Suzanne) Poole, Debra (Greg) Lindblad, and Christy (Gene) Poole Prescott; grandchildren, Aric Lindblad (Anna Stevens) & Kevin Lindblad (Caitlyn Gray), Tiffany (Russell) Inzer, and Ashley Poole; great-granddaughter, Addie Inzer.
The visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at Woodlawn Baptist Church. The memorial service will be at 7:15 p.m. on Friday at Woodlawn Baptist Church. The interment will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Springfield Cemetery Annex located on Ash Street.
