Kildare – Billy Myers, 62, passed away July 19, 2024 after a long illness.

The Charleston, SC native was a lifelong resident of Effingham County.  He retired from GA Ports Authority as a crane operator, loved going to Georgia Football games, and spending time with friends and family.  He was a member of Mizpah Church, the Mizpah Men's Breakfast Club, Effingham County Methodist Campground Trustees, and the Effingham County Sunday School Convention Executive Committee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett W. Myers and Amelia Sowell Myers.

Survivors include his sister, Jenny Johnson; brother, Whit Myers; nephews, Jason Johnson, Jesse Johnson (Tabitha), Jordan Johnson (Adele), and Alex Myers (Audra); great-nieces and nephews, Kaleb, Kiersten, Fischer, Miles, Bennett, Sullivan, Grayson, and Eleanor.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2024 at Mizpah Church followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
